Insert the tool in the narrow gap between the door and the frame by turning until it makes contact with the latch. Keep turning it until it pushes back the latch. 

Especially suitable for doors with stick-out seals, which has made inserting opening needles impossible until now. The spiral door latch openers pierce these stick-out seals and make it possible to slip the latch!
